RaspAnd 12 (Android 12) for Raspberry Pi 4 with Google Play Services, Spotify, Bluetooth, F-Droid Store, AIDA64, Firefox and Clash of Clans pre-installed :: Build 220419

ABOUT RaspAnd 12 – Build 220419
RaspAnd 12 runs very well on a Raspberry Pi 4. I.e. the system is pretty responsive if you use a micro SD card of good quality. RaspAnd 12 has the following apps pre-installed: Google Play Services (and some other Google apps), Spotify, Firefox Browser (so you can watch YouTube), F-Droid (Free and Open Source App Repository), Clash of Clans and Aida64. You’ll need Google Play Services for some games to work. Among them Clash of Clans.

PLEASE NOTE that you must be aware of the fact that the Raspberry Pi 4 computer has its limitations and that Android 12 is a very advanced Linux system. Having said that I must also say that the apps I have included in this Build (see above) work very well.

Run Android 10 on your PC :: AndEX 10 (Android-x86_64) with GAPPS (Google Play Store etc.), F-Droid, Brave Browser and Spotify :: Build 200218

NEWS 200218 – A new version of AndEX 10
I’ve uploaded a new upgraded version of AndEX 10 – andex-10-x86_64-gapps-fdroid-spotify-1180mb-200218.iso. I.e. all included apps have been updated to the latest version. Also Google Play Services and Google Play Store. The main reason for this new version is that I discovered that Google Chrome couldn’t run anymore. I have therefore replaced Google Chrome with Brave, which is an excellent Web Browser in many ways. At the same time I discovered a new very nice launcher – 3D Live Launcher. So it is of course included in AndEX Build 200218. Make it your standard Launcher. I’ve also added the app Google Play Games. Makes it easier to run games in AndEX.

Upgrade from version 200108 to 200218?
If you already have AndEX version 200108 up and running there is no need to acquire the new version. Just upgrade all apps to the latest version of today and you’re done! Use Google Play Store for that. You can of course also install Brave, the 3D Live Launcher and Google Play Games yourself.

I.e. from a DVD or a USB stick or live in VirtualBox or VMware. On some computers you’ll have to start up AndEX 7.1.2 in compatibility mode (VESA) after a hard drive installation. GAPPS and all other apps mentioned below are installed. NOTE1: You can run AndEX Nougat Build 170930 on newer laptops and Desktop computers. The video and sound performance is generally very very good. Note2: When trying to run AndEX Build 170930 live (from a DVD or USB stick) you will get all kinds or errors. When running AndEX from hard drive (also in VirtualBox or VMware) you will get no errors at all.

MORE NEWS 170930: AndEX – Nougat 7.1.2 with kernel 4.13.3-exton-android-x86_64 and GAPPS
My new build of Android-x86_64 Nougat 7.1.2 have GAPPS pre-installed. I.e. Google Play Services, Google Play Store 8.1.29.S-all, Google Play Games, Gmail 7.9.10 and YouTube 12.36.56. Also many other apps. For example: Spotify 8.4.21.495, File Manager 2.2.0.147, Firefox 55.0.2 and Rotation Control Pro 1.1.9.

PREREQUISITE
The system can also be installed manually to hard drive. To be able to do that you must have at least one Linux system installed on your hard drive. You must also use Grub as boot loader. You can also (or alternatively) install AndEX 7.1.2 the normal way while running the system from a DVD or from a USB stick. Use preferable Rufus to create a bootable USB stick. Or burn the ISO file (android_x86_64-7.1.2-nougat-gapps-kernel-4.13.3-exton-958mb-170930.iso) to a DVD and run the system (install) from it.

ABOUT Andex Nougat 7.1.2
My compiled Android-x86_64 system (Nougat 7.1.2) can be installed on almost all newer laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Asus laptops. I can also mention that I could run my new Nougat version without problems on a HP Pavilion 500-317no Desktop Computer. The Android-AndEX 7.1.2 system is distributed in the form of a Zip file and a ISO file. You can do a manual installation to hard drive. That can even be done to a drive where you already have another Linux system (for example Ubuntu 17.04) installed. That’s sort of a Frugal Installation (normally used by Puppy Linux).

Android Nougat 7.1.2 was released 170403.

Android-x86_64 Nougat 7.1.2 – Build 170619 – with GAPPS and kernel 4.9.31-exton-android-x86_64

News 170621 about AndEX 7.1.2
Yesterday I said that AndEX 7.1.2 couldn’t run in VirtualBox and VMware. Actually it can! It just takes about 10 min for the Desktop to show up when running AndEX live. (I mean directly from the ISO file). Watch this screenshotVirtualBox and this screenshot – VMware. Just give AndEX enough RAM. I gave AndEX 3GB. You can (of course) also install AndEX to a virtual hard drive in VirtualBox and VMware. The system will be very responsive then.

What’s the point?
Well, if you like your Android phone and all the apps you have installed on it I’m sure you will also like to run apps from your laptop. Bigger screen and better sound etc. Also: In AndEX Nougat Build 170619 almost all apps and games can be installed via Google Play Store. You can even install very big games (of 1GB or so), but unfortunately almost all such games need a touchscreen. Clash of Clans (pre-installed) works very good though. So does Angry Birds. Still not convinced? Then read my article about “How useful an Androx-x86 system can be for the average computer user“.

MORE NEWS 170616 ABOUT RaspAnd Nougat 7.1.2
I have finally managed to make a version of RaspAnd Nougat 7.1.2 with GAPPS, which can be installed to a Micro SD card (preferable a class 10 card) in Windows 10 using Win32 Disk Imager. You can alternatively (of course) use the dd-command in a Linux system. Unzip the downloaded file raspand-nougat-7.1.2-gapps-kodi-aptoide-tv-clashofclans-firefox-701mb-170616.zip. Then open a terminal and run the command dd if=raspand-nougat-7.1.2-gapps-kodi-aptoide-tv-clashofclans-firefox-7400mb-170616.img of=/dev/sdX bs=1M
(Change X to b, d or…).

What’s the point with Win32 Disk Imager?
Well, until now you had to have some basic knowledge about Linux to be able to install RaspAnd 7.1.2. Now you don’t need any special knowledge at all! (Just some basic computer knowledge). When you use Win32 Disk Imager it will look like this.

ABOUT Andex Nougat 7.1.1

My compiled Android-x86_64 systems (Nougat 7.1.1) can run from hard drive on certain computers. They must be installed to hard drive and run from there. The systems can be installed on almost all newer laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Asus laptops. I can also mention that I could run my new Nougat versions without problems on a HP Pavilion 500-317no Desktop Computer. The Android-AndEX systems are distributed in the form of a Zip files. I.e. not as ISO files as the rest of my Linux distributions. You must do a manual installation to hard drive. 1) GAPPS (latest by 170125)
2) Kodi 17.0-RC4 (with YouTube enabled and working!)
3) Firefox 51.0
4) Spotify 1.0.0
5) Rotation Control Pro 1.1.9
6) AIDA64 1.44
7) Aptoide App Store 8.0.1.2
8) YouTube 1.3.11 (sound, but no video. If you, however, use SnapTube you can download videos/movies from YouTube and replay them in Windows or Linux with perfect video quality)
9) ES File Explorer Pro 1.0.8
10) Gmail 7.1.1
11) Google Play Services 10.2.91
12) Google App 6.10.37.21
13) Google Play Store 7.4.12.L-all (not working, but since Google Play Services work very well you can install many new GAPPS using Aptoide App Store).
14) SnapTube 4.11.0.8.8655

ABOUT KODI
Kodi (an award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media center for playing videos, music, pictures, games, and more) works very well in RaspAnd. You can enable a lot of Add-ons. Most important is that the YouTube Add-on is enabled by default and that it works very well. I.e. both the sound and the video performance when running YouTube in Kodi is satisfying.

KNOWN ISSUES
1. The screen can flicker sometimes on certain monitors. In the worst cases it can look like this. Fix: Click on the screen or wait a moment.
2. Google Play Store won’t run. Nothing to do about it (right now). Aptoide is a good replacement since you can install most Google apps using Aptoide.
3. You can’t watch videos/movies using the YouTube app. The sound is very good though. Nothing to do about it (right now). Please note that you can run YouTube in Kodi with good video and sound quality.
4. Not all apps will run in RaspAnd Nougat. You can for example run the popular (?) Clash of Clans, but not Angry Birds. Many many apps will run without problems though.
5. You may have to reconnect to your Wifi Network after every reboot of RaspAnd. Sort of a “bug”.

PLEASE NOTE that the installation to a Micro SD Card has to take place in Linux.

AndEX Marshmallow 6.0.1 – 64bit – with GAPPS and kernel-4.4.20-exton-android-x86_64 – Build 160922

andex-marshmallow-64bit-screenshot-desktop-smallNEWS 160922 – AndEX 64bit – Marshmallow 6.0.1 with kernel 4.4.20-exton-android-x86_64 and GAPPS
My build of Android-x86_64 Marshmallow 6.0.1 has GAPPS pre-installed. I.e. Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Gmail and more apps. Other pre-installed apps are for example Aptoide App Manager and Clash of Clans. The ISO is called android_x86_64-marshmallow-6.0.1-gapps-736mb-160922.iso. AndEX Marshmallow 64bit Build 160922 is totally error-free (as far as I know). Everything just works! About Google Play Services – read below and see this slideshow.

About
My compiled Android-x86_64 system (Marshmallow 6.0.1) can run live (from CD) or be installed on almost all laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Asus laptops. The Android system is distributed in the form of an ISO file as the rest of my Linux distributions. I.e. you must (as usual) burn the ISO file to a DVD if you want to run the system live on your computer or install it to hard drive. Read about how to burn ISO files. Or skip that. Just use ImgBurn. Nothing can go wrong.

More about AndEX Marshmallow 64 bit
Marshmallow 6.0.1 is the second latest version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google. I call my remaster of it AndEX Marshmallow 64bit Live DVD. It uses “my” special kernel 4.4.20-exton-android-x86_64 with some extra features. I.e. extra drivers. My Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 build from 2016-02-14 will also cost you 9 $. I has one advantage over the Nougat, Marshmallow and Lollipop AndEX versions: The system can be used also on older laptops. Read more about the KitKat 4.4.4 version 160214 or DOWNLOAD it instantly.

Google Play Services
When you start up AndEX Marshmallow Build 160922 for the first time you will get an error message saying that “Google Play Services has stopped”. (As in my previous builds of AndEX). This is easily fixed by going to Settings – Apps – Google Play Services. Give Google Play Services ALL permissions. After  that you won’t see any more error messages.

Installing new apps in AndEX Marshmallow 64 bit
Use Google Play Store or Aptoide App Manager, which are pre-installed. Just make your choices! See screenshots when I’m installing Spotify, Google Chrome and YouTube while running AndEX Marshmallow Build 160922 from hard drive.

REPLACEMENT
Version 160922 (64 bit) replaces version 160220 of AndEX Marshmallow (32 bit).

My compiled Android-x86_64 system (Nougat 7.0) can run live (from CD) on certain computers. It is best installed to a USB stick or to hard drive and running from there. The system can, however, be installed on almost all newer laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Asus laptops. I can also mention that I could run this Nougat version without problems on a HP Pavilion 500-317no Desktop Computer. I could also run it very well live on the HP Desktop computer. The Android system is distributed in the form of an ISO file as the rest of my Linux distributions. I.e. you must (as usual) burn the ISO file to a CD before you can install AndEX Nougat to hard drive. Read about how to burn ISO files. Or skip that. Just use ImgBurn. Nothing can go wrong. You can also download my Android Nougat system in the form of a zip-file (android-x86_64-7.0-nougat-gapps-exton-build-731mb-160904.zip) and do a manual installation to hard drive. That can even be done to a drive where you already have another Linux system (for example Ubuntu 16.04) installed. Read more about different installations below.

Android Nougat 7.0 was released 160822.

More about AndEX Nougat
Nougat 7.0 is the latest version of the Android mobile operating system developed by Google. I call my remaster of it AndEX Nougat. It uses “my” special kernel 4.4.19-exton-android-x86_64 with some extra features. I.e. extra drivers. My Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 build from 2016-02-14 will also cost you 9 $. It has two advantages over the Nougat and Marshmallow versions: The system can be used also on older laptops and it runs very well live in VirtualBox. Read more about the KitKat 4.4.4 version 160214 or DOWNLOAD it instantly.

What’s the point?

Well, if you like your Android phone and all the apps you have installed on it I’m sure you will also like to run apps from your laptop. Bigger screen and better sound etc. Also: In AndEX Nougat Build 160904 almost all apps and games can be installed via Google Play Store. Still not convinced? Then read my article about “How useful an Androx-x86 system can be for the average computer user“.

NOTE1/WARNING1
You must use a fairly new/modern computer. Android-x86_64 Nougat won’t run (even start) on older computers. My other Android remaster KitKat 4.4.4 Build 160214 will run also on older computers.

NOTE2/WARNING2
Before you buy and download this version of AndEX Nougat you must be aware of that not all apps downloaded from Google Play Store can run in an Android-x86_64 system. Some very big (around 1GB) games for example won’t run. On the other hand I could run Pes Club Manager, which is of 866 MB and Traffic Rider of about the same size. You must also be aware of that some (many) games need a touchscreen.
