ExTiX 16.2, Build 160508, with KDE 4.15 together with KDE Frameworks 5.15.0

extix-logo-black-white-bgI have made a new version of ExTiX – The Ultimate Linux System. I call it ExTiX 16.2 KDE Live DVD. (The previous version was 15.4).

ABOUT
ExTiX 16.2
KDE DVD 64 bit is based on Debian 8.4 Jessie/Debian 9 Stretch and Ubuntu 16.04. The original system includes the Desktop Environment Unity (Ubuntu). After removing Unity I have installed KDE Frameworks 5.15.0 with KDE 4.15. KDE Frameworks are 60 addon libraries to Qt which provide a wide variety of commonly needed functionality in mature, peer reviewed and well tested libraries with friendly licensing terms.

Stable
ExTiX KDE is now more stable than ever. All packages have been upgraded to the latest version by 160508.

The system language is ENGLISH.

Used KERNEL
My special kernel 4.4.0-19-exton corresponding Kernel.org’s kernel 4.4.6.

What’s new in kernel 4.4?

  1. Your distros are amazing!!!
I have an E5200 CPU with 2 GB Ram, i tried to run KDE in the past but it was slow and glitched, this is the first time a KDE distro works good even with USB 2.0 speed. Just entering the desktop eats 350ram, then its 450-500 with light activity (no browser). The animations are smooth and 0 glitches or crashes. Works great but ill probably stick with LXQT because eats less ram.
Im really amazed because i love the KDE look and just for curiosity i tried a lot of live ISOs in the past with the KDE desktop and none of them worked good, like i already said they were very slow and glitched, since i tried your LXQT version wich is super fast i was wondering how this KDE version would work to see if the problem was my PC or the distros, and well im happy to know the problem are the distros…

    1. Thanks! Glad to hear that they work so good for you. Not so many people will see your post here. Please do me a favor and write what you wrote here at
